Pinerolo is well known all over the world because it was the site of the National School of Cavalry which had, as a teacher, Federico Caprilli who invented the natural horse riding method in 1902.

This would be a real revolution in the equestrian world of that period.

The school was closed in 1943 but 2004 saw the beginning of the building for the new National Federal School of Horse-Riding.

Every year several equestrian competitions take place, including important international and world ones.
